The Jefferson County Democratic Party has announced that it will be holding a fundraising event for Rep. Don Vruwink. The event is called “Rally for Vruwink.”
Vruwink, who serves as the representative in Wisconsin Assembly District 43, is running for a seat in Assembly District 33. His name will appear on the November ballot. He is facing Republican challenger Scott Johnson.
Vruwink is running in Assembly District 33 as a result of legislative redistricting which took place across the state earlier this year. After the new maps were approved by the Wisconsin Legislature in April, Vruwink’s Milton residence was no long included in the district he serves. His residence, after redistricting, is included in the 33rd district.
According to information released by the Jefferson County Democratic Party, the fundraising event will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at Paddy Coughlin’s Pub, 14 East Sherman Ave., Fort Atkinson.
The Rally for Vruwink will include remarks from Sara Rodriguez, candidate for lieutenant governor, and other elected officials and community leaders whose names were not made available within the release.
The 33rd district includes within its boundaries the communities of Milton, Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Palmyra, northern portions of Janesville and Harmony, according to the release.
The Jefferson County Democratic Party is a grass-roots membership affiliate of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Its mission is to engage voters to elect Democrats at local, state, and national levels, and to advocate for fair policies that expand opportunity for working people, the release noted.
