Sheriff: Inmate released for job interview fails to return to Jefferson County Jail

The following information has been released by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

On 04/08/24 at approximately 10:30 a.m., inmate Andrea M. Mendoza was let out of the Jefferson County Jail on Huber to participate in a job interview in the city of Jefferson. Mendoza never arrived at her job interview and did not return to the Jefferson County Jail.  Several attempts have been made to locate her without success.  We are asking for assistance in locating inmate Mendoza so that she may be taken into custody and returned to the jail.  Her failure to return to the Jefferson County Jail has now placed her into a wanted status.  Mendoza has ties to the City of Watertown.  Mendoza is 5-feet, 4-inches tall and approximately 135 pounds, with dark brown hair, brown eyes and is known to sometimes wear glasses.  She has a tattoo of a feather on her left forearm and a tattoo above her eye.
