Heritage Country Meats holds grand opening

Heritage Country Meats hosted a variety of family-friendly and community-based activities during its grand opening Saturday.

Along with free food and giveaways provided by the company, event-goers were treated to free ice cream cones and sundaes served by the Fort Atkinson FFA Alumni organization and the Hoard’s Dairyman Farm Creamery shared samples of its Gouda and Sark cheeses.

Activities included a Kids’ Area, offering face painting, balloons and a photo booth.

Also in attendance was State Sen. Steve Nass, who expressed an appreciation for contributions made to the community by small businesses.

Heritage Country Meats co-owner Pam Severson noted that she was especially pleased to be able to serve the farming community, providing services for local producers as well as retail opportunities for members of the public.

Located at N3705 State Road 89 between Jefferson and Fort Atkinson, the company had a soft opening, beginning its custom processing plant and retail operations last November.

The grand opening was scheduled to take place during warm weather to allow for outdoor activities, organizers said.

Following are photos from the event.

Event-goers place their tickets into a box for inclusion in a free raffle. The prize was two passes to Country Thunder.
