Becky Roberts has been named Jefferson County Fair Park director, according to information released Tuesday by the organization.
Jefferson County Fair Park functions year-round under the director, who is appointed by the county administrator, the Jefferson County Fair Park website states.
A posting to find a new park director was placed on LinkedIn in January.
Roberts succeeds former director Amy Listle.
According to Tuesday’s release,Roberts is “an experienced leader in the hospitality industry, formerly serving as executive vice president at IDM Hospitality Management. She has delivered exceptional results across fall facets of project management, hospitality operations, marketing, and event production, making her a valuable addition to the Jefferson County Fair Park team.”
The release notes that during her time at IDM, Roberts was a leader in the development and expansion of “multiple 3-diamond and 4-diamond full-service hotel properties.”
Her duties included “ensuring that new development projects met stringent feasibility, program, design, and quality specifications. She also oversaw recruitment, orientation, training, and onboarding education for hotel executive teams,” the release read.
Additionally, according to the release, Roberts “implemented best practices in revenue management, budget reporting, customer service standards, and sales and marketing management.”
Roberts’ resume includes work experiences as the special events director at Washington County Fair Park, and executive positions at the Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The new director holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, with a minor in communications.
Roberts, the release stated, “grew up helping at her grandparent’s dairy farm near Marshfield.”
“I am honored to serve as the new Jefferson County Fair Park Director. I am excited to work collaboratively with the team to continue delivering memorable experiences for our guests and ensuring the economic engine of the Fair Park provides momentum to the communities of Jefferson County for years to come,” Roberts was quoted as saying in the release.
