Fort Atkinson and Whitewater voters arriving to the primary polls Tuesday found on their ballots the names of candidates running for seats in the U.S. Senate, and for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state and state treasurer. The partisan primary election saw statewide voters from within each party choosing candidates whose names will next appear on the November general election ballot. The election will be held Nov. 8.

Governor: Evers to race against Tim Michels, Joan Ellis Beglinger
Republican candidate Tim Michels will race against Democratic incumbent Tony Evers in November. Evers ran unchallenged Tuesday as his party’s nominee. Also advancing to the November ballot is Independent candidate Joan Ellis Beglinger. With 85% of Republican primary precincts reported as of Wednesday afternoon, statewide totals, as reported by Ballotpedia, follow:

U.S. Senator: Johnson to race against Barnes
Republican candidate Ron Johnson will race against Democratic candidate Mandela Barnes in November. Johnson beat his primary opponent David Schroeder by a large margin. With 84% of Democratic primary precincts counted as reported by Ballopedia as of Wednesday afternoon, Barnes advanced from a field of eight primary candidates, three of whom — Sarah Godlewski, Alex Lasry and Tom Nelson — unofficially withdrew in advance of the race. Barnes, too, distanced himself from his primary opponents by a large margin. Statewide totals are as follow:

Lieutenant Governor: Rodriguez to race against Roth
Republican candidate Roger Roth will race against Democratic candidate Sara Rodriquez in November. Rodriguez won her place on the general election ballot against two challengers, including a write-in candidate — Angela Kennedy — by a large margin. With 71% of Republican primary precincts counted, as reported by Ballotpedia as of Wednesday afternoon, Roth emerged from his primary election from a field of eight. Statewide totals are as follow:

Attorney General: Kaul to race against Toney
Republican candidate Eric Toney will race against Democratic incumbent Josh Kaul in November. Kaul ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. Statewide totals posted Thursday by Ballotpedia note a close race between Toney and one of two Republican primary challengers, Adam Jarchow. The other Republican primary challenger was Karen Mueller. National media outlets have reported that Jarchow issued a statement Wednesday during a news conference, urging voters to place their support behind Toney. Statewide totals follow.

Republican candidate Amy Loudenbeck will race against Democratic incumbent Douglas La Follette in November. La Follette emerged victorious from the primary after facing a single opponent. With 70% of precincts counted as reported by Ballotpedia as of Wednesday afternoon, Loudenbeck has emerged from a field of three. Also advancing to November’s ballot is Libertarian Party candidate Neil Harmon. Statewide totals are as follow:

State Treasurer: Richardson, Lieber, Zuelke advance to November ballot
Democratic candidate Aaron Richardson will race against Republican candidate John Leiber and Constitution Party candidate Andrew Zuelke in November, according to Ballotpedia. With 43% of precincts reported by Ballopedia in the Republican primary as of Wednesday evening, statewide totals for the candidates follow.

According to the Wisconsin Election Commission website, Wisconsin does not have a statewide system using a central official website or feed where unofficial results are reported on Election Night. Unofficial election results reported on Election Night instead are gathered, typically by the media, from each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties. Unofficial tallies are recorded and posted, as stipulated by state law, on Election Night on each county’s website.
