ADRC announces upcoming programming

The Aging and Disabilities Resource Center (ADRC) of Jefferson County has announced its upcoming schedule of events. They include opportunities to learn more about dementia and get memory screenings, according to Dementia Care Specialist Heather Janes. 

Upcoming events include:

Wednesday June 16,, 10 a.m., Dementia Caregiver Support Group (virtual). Contact ADRC for more information.

Thursday, June 17, 10 a.m., Watertown Dementia Awareness Coalition (virtual), Contact ADRC for more information. 

June 17, 11:30 a.m., Alzheimer’s Association Author Presentation with former Gov. Marty Schreiber and Author Susan A. Marshall. Contact ADRC for more information. 

June 17, 1 p.m., Book Club (week three) Mom’s Gone Missing. Contact ADRC for more information. 

Friday, June 18, 3 p.m., Quarterly County Coalition Meeting (all dementia coalition members welcome to attend).

June 21,  Memory Screening Event at Fort Atkinson Senior Center, 1-3 p.m.  To reserve a spot, call 920-675-4035.

July 12,  new book club, featuring book titled: “Creating Moments of Joy” by Jolene Brackey. To learn more, call: 920-675-4035. 

July 27, Memory Screening Event at Watertown Senior Center,  9-3 p.m. To reserve a spot, call: 920-675-4035.

August 5, Dr. Alexis Eastman from UW-Madison will present on the topic: What to Expect in Dementia. For more information, contact ADRC. 

September, Memory Cafés rotating in Jefferson County between local libraries. More information will become available at a later date. 

Nov. 4 and 11, elder law and financial advisor presentations, noon until 6 p.m., contact ADRC for more information.

Nov. 18, Teepa Snow, topic: “Dementia Extraordinaire Humor and Caregiving.”
