On July 1, I was the medical examiner on duty for the fatality in Fort. PLEASE if you see an accident, go ahead and look if you must but then LEAVE. GO HOME. And for the love of all things holy DO NOT TAKE VIDEOS or PHOTOS! I have never witnessed so many heartless and insensitive people around the scene, ever, taking photos and videotaping us and the family’s loved one who lost their life. If that was your loved one, would you or your family members want to see a post on a Fort Atkinson Facebook page before you are notified of your loss? Have some sympathy and respect for the family. Fort Atkinson Police Department, Ryan Brothers Ambulance Service and City of Fort Atkinson Fire Department eventually had to shield the scene with all their vehicles just to convey respect for the family’s loved one.
