Sandra A. “Sandy” Werner, 79, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023.
Sandy was born on September 18, 1943 in Fort Atkinson, daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Kraus) Werner.
Sandy had many pleasures in life including her cats, hatching butterflies, putting model cars together, making hook rugs, diamond art, collecting blown glass and solar dancing toys and cheering on the Brewers and Packers. She will also be remembered for riding her red 3-wheeler, making the best chocolate sheet cakes and baking Christmas cookies. Sandy also worked at Opportunities Inc. for several years and volunteered at the Fort Atkinson Senior Center.
Sandy is survived by her sister, Diana Baumann; nieces and nephews, Lori (Jerry) Schwab, Dennis (Sara) Baumann, Greg Baumann, Melissa (Chad) Belzer and the late Jeffrey (Tanya) Baumann and many great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Harold Baumann.
A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson.
The family would like to thank Sara Baumann for the special care given to Sandy over the past several years. Also, a thank you to Rainbow Hospice.
